Hello, I'm Jimm Grimm
My long experience of lamination and films started over 60 years ago when I was developing extruded sheet and film products for packaging foods and meats at Riegel Paper (now Rexham) and then Allied Chemical (now Honeywell). I imagine-ered major improvements in packaging candies, snack foods, sutures and medical devices, and developed one of the first plastic dishes for cooking food in microwave ovens as well as providing technical support for several large plastic film facilities.
Moving to Transilwrap Company (now Transcendia) in 1980, as technical director and chief engineer, I became involved with installing, here and overseas, extrusion lines for film, sheet and extrusion coating. I developed technical teams to develop the products to run on those lines, as well as training, overseeing and mentoring technical and customer service reps.
In 2007, seizing the opportunity to scale back, I partnered with the leading designer of laminating machinery. I now wear ALL the hats from time to time in the business, but most importantly I look to making our customers smile.
Our laminating machines were built by my business associate Derek Wright, who both designed and built these exceptional laminating machines for almost 30 years. We now maintain these machines, capable of laminating a variety materials from postage stamp size up to 60 inches wide. The machines were elegantly designed with few moving –but dependable– parts, and achieve outstanding service lives. Most parts are still available - even for the older machines - and are easily replaced with unskilled help.
Our machines in the workplace support desktop publishing and exhibit manufacturers, including laminated book covers, place mats and counter mats, and parts for point of purchase displays.
Our machines can laminate posters and banners up to 5 feet wide and 300 feet long (or longer if you really need longer). Used machines, factory serviced, are sometimes available.
We also provide expert advice on films, substrates, and much more to those businesses that need technical direction.
Our company also has a modest plastics laboratory facility, one lab-sized pilot extrusion line capable of extruding most plastic resins, and a small coatings mixing facility for boutique applications.
Talk to me. I may be able to help.
